Windsor, Missouri ... No Small Town Offers More
Windsor is located in West Central Missouri, at the intersection of five state highways, on the famous Katy Trail, a 200 mile hiking and biking trail, and near Truman Lake, one of the Show-Me State's largest fishing and recreational lakes. Our best kept secret is the low cost of living. We enjoy a simple, more relaxed lifestyle. Windsor and the surrounding area are rich in history.
Windsor offers many services and benefits to its citizens: Farrington Park and lake, a municipal swimming pool, a new public library, healthcare and pharmacy, one of the nation's leading acute care psychiatric hospitals, biking and hiking trails, a variety of shopping opportunities, a senior citizens center, accredited schools, banking, business and industry, restaurants and grocery, gas stations and convenience stores, nursing homes, a museum and research center, and so much more.
With a population of just over 3,000 people, a great portion of Windsor's economy depends on area agriculture. Soils are capable of growing fruits, vegetables, and grain. Ranchers raise cattle, pork, and poultry. This area offers an abundance of water, with approximately 40 inches of precipitation each year. The rolling terrain lends itself to capture of rainfall, encouraging private lakes and ponds throughout the countryside. A large variety of trees dot the land. This provides a lush, green, and attractive landscape.
Our area is home to a large Amish community. Their bulk stores, greenhouses, furniture shops, and other services are available to the public.
Windsor welcomes new industry and has an available work force. There is acreage available in our growing Industrial Park.
With numerous civic organizations, the schools, and our many churches, you will never lack for something to do in Windsor. Volunteers are everywhere you look. Windsor does not want for caring, helpful people. Come see for yourself!
Windsor offers a number of annual events for your participation and enjoyment:
Easter Parade, Windsor Area Civic Organization (WACO) Rodeo, Fourth of July at Farrington Park, Septemberfest Celebration, Veterans Day Dinner, Moonlight Madness and Lighted Christmas Parade, and Christmas in the Park.
We have a great number of civic organizations who would welcome your membership: Two garden clubs, several service sororities, Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Masonic Lodge, Rebekahs, WACO, American Legion, VFW, Athletic Boosters, PTO, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and many more.
Our community supports several churches of varying denominations.
Consider Windsor. We care about our people, our schools, and our town. Here ... You are home.
